Power Shoulders Galore at Balmain

I'm loving what Olivier Rousteing has done with Balmain's Fall 2013 collection.

And he even named Christian Lacroix, Pierre Balmain and Paul Poiret as his inspiration. You'll have to agree those are great designers to inspire you by.

I guess I've always been a fan of the very edgy 80s fashion. This collection makes me think of Grace Jones, with the small waist and the power shoulders. But within all the edge, there is also a certain softness with the draping on the skirts and harem pants.

Once again, big apologies for no updates in recent months. 

I have been swarmed with work.

I even missed the whole of Fall 2013 fashion week. What an abomination!

But I managed to catch Alexander Wang's debut at Balenciaga. 

I'll have to say Two Thumbs Up to the guy. 

You can tell he still retained his signature throughout the whole collection. But it was a more refined version. And the good thing is that he still kept Cristóbal Balenciaga in mind, and it looked like he studied well before proceeding with the whole collection.
