Everybody who knows me well
knows that I love accessories.
Rings
Necklaces
Cuffs
etc.
And I'm not the type who goes for anything.
I love the odd pieces.
Items that are not ordinary.
Something that gets people talking sometimes.
I have a couple of pieces of necklaces that I go to very often.
Unfortunately I hate to keep them in storage because it means
having to take them out everytime I want to wear them.
And I wear them often.
So what better way to keep my accessories? Use them to decorate my bedroom!
I do not claim this idea as my own.
Of course not.
I saw this once in a blog and thought it was just pure genius.
So here's my very own tutorial.
Sort of........
First, you'll need a cork board. The regular ones you use to pin stuff on like notes or recipes or photographic ideas.
Choose a spot you want to hang it as if it's a picture frame.
I used these sort of metal hooks. They come with those sticky double-sided foam tapes on the back.
I figured they are small and if I decided to remove them off the wall,
they wouldn't leave big marks.....
And I bought these pins. I guess you can buy whatever kind they have out there.
I saw some fancy ones like sunflowers with hooks underneath.
But I thought these clear ones would be perfect for me. They let the accessories shine
while doing their job perfectly.....
Hang your cork board on your desired wall area.
Push the pins into the board wherever you want.
Bring out your favourite pieces of necklaces from your collection of accessories.
Preferably ones that are not too heavy.
My cat Lulu has shown you her favourite piece.
Hang your necklaces over the pins on the cork board.
And now, you not only have a place to keep your favourite necklaces.
You also have a wonderful display item on your wall.
Don't forget to dust them lightly every now and then.
